Yeast Infections – Over The Counter Medications
Women that use creams before they even have a yeast infection use it as a preventative measure. They think that if they use the cream before the fungus is present it will prevent the infection from ever occurring. WRONG! If it is not broken to not fix it! Meaning, do not use medication if there is no infection! It will only have the reverse effects and create resistant yeast which will be harder to treat.
Your vagina is very acidic and cleans itself and not does need medication on a daily basis to clean it. It is also very important to not douche! When a woman douches (cleaning the inside of the vagina), this gets rid of the healthy bacteria in the genitals that stabilize the yeast in your vagina. If there is a constant itch or an unfamiliar odor then you probably have an infection but should consult your doctor first. Be certain it is a yeast infection before you treat it with unnatural remedies and medications. Medications are designed to treat and target infection. If there is no infection it is unhealthy to be ingesting toxic chemicals.
Some women diagnose themselves with a yeast infection even if they are not positive they have one. They take medications to rid themselves of the infection even if they are unsure if it is truly a yeast infection.
